Cate Fering, MSW, LCSW
Cate is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25
years experience working with individuals, couples and
groups. Cate specializes in using the Internal Family
System(IFS) or “Parts” model. This model provides
an integration of intrapsychic family therapy with psychology
and spirituality. Cate understands divorce is a time of
great loss and pain, but believes it's also an opportunity
to reevaluate a person’s life. Her divorce work
is teaching what to expect as one goes through a divorce
and how to use emotional, physical and spiritual strategies
to help survive, heal and thrive.
Steve Wallman, MSW, LCSW
Steve is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes
in issues of divorce. He is divorced and remarried, and
personally and professionally aware of the importance
of sustained support in helping clients resolve the difficult
issues of divorce. He obtained his Masters of Arts degree
in Clinical Social Work, University of Chicago - School
of Social Service Administrations in 1994 after 20 years
of sales and marketing experience in corporate America.
He received a Post Graduate Certificate from the Chicago
Center for Family Health, Methods of Family & Couples
Therapy in 1999. He also specializes in men's issues with
almost 20 years of experience as participant and staff
leader in the Chicago men's movement.
Kate van Dyke, M.A., Divorce
Coach
Kate is the founder of Divorce Counseling and Coaching,
Inc. She is dedicated to making the divorce process less
stressful, more manageable and much more cost effective
for divorcing individuals. Her years of private practice
counseling adults, leading parenting training programs,
and running marital crisis groups coupled with her corporate
experience as the senior marketing and communications
executive enable her to tackle both the emotional and
the business pieces of the divorce process. She works
with clients to develop a realistic plan of action and
divorce timeline. Kate is certified in Mediation Training
and Consultation Family Mediation and Parent Education
Leadership. She is a member of the Mediation Council of
Illinois and the International Academy of Collaborative
Professionals. Kate earned her Master’s degree from
the Alfred Adler Institute and her B.A. from Bryn Mawr.
Gail Grossman, Ph.D.
Gail Grossman earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology
from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 1986 and
has been working with children and families since that
time. She has special interests in divorce and in
child abuse, and has served as a forensic evaluator
for the court system for many years. She is the
co-founder of the newly formed Illinois Parent Resource
Center, which assists parents and children to function
at their highest level when navigating through normal
stages of development or coping with
stressful life transitions. Dr. Grossman is very involved
in providing both educational and supportive services
to families and children.
